As we roll into the 2025 holiday season, it’s time to start thinking about what to get the transit nerd in your life.
As ever, our team is keeping an eye on the latest and greatest designs from transit agencies from Amtrak to WMATA, and this year we found so many excellent transit sweaters that we simply had to dedicate an entire guide to them.
So without further ado, please enjoy these cozy, hand-picked items from our team:
Why we love it: It's festive AND gets you humming. (We’re listening, Amtrak. And we’re buying.)
Why we love it: Simple, classic, classy (although we kind of miss the kawaii BART sweaters). You could wear this one to a family get-together and not get weird looks.
Why we love it: This one lights up! And they tossed The Bean in there! You’re sure to have fun with this one.
Why we love it: This light-up(!) sweater celebrates every holiday using every color. Also, penguins.
Why we love it: Here we see our favorite T line hard at work (you can almost feel the frigid air stepping out at Lechmere Station). The windshield wiper is a nice touch.

Why we love it: This one includes each and every type of vehicle in SEPTA’s system, with our personal favorite vehicle on the back - the West Philly trolley. And Philly’s skyline is always a hit.

Why we love it: We appreciate how this design effortlessly combines transit with local flora and fauna of the region. Exactly the cheerful, PNW-themed transit content we needed.
