Happy holiday season! It’s been an exciting year here at Jawnt HQ. Before we officially wrap up the year, we wanted to share a quick look back on 2024 at Jawnt.

Top 5 Accomplishments of 2024:

  1. Jawnt Pass: We kicked off the year strong in February with the launch of the Jawnt Pass, our modern transit debit card that allows employees to use pre-tax dollars for transit and parking anywhere in the US (and optionally post-tax dollars for other sorts of mobility). It’s been great to see the momentum.
  2. Spanish language support: To serve our increasing number of riders from all over the country, we launched Spanish language support and translated key support articles into Spanish to support riders everywhere.
  3. First HR industry survey: We published the first-ever State of Commuter Benefits report. The report includes data from interviews with 400+ HR professionals and has helped our team and customers better serve employees’ transportation needs.
  4. SOC 2 Certification: SOC 2 Type 1 certification is a major milestone for our product and reinforces our commitment to keeping our customers' data safe, secure, and handled to the highest standards. We look forward to achieving the next milestone of SOC 2 Type 2 certification in 2025!
  5. Jawnt Maps: And in case you missed it, we launched Jawnt Maps! This first-of-its-kind commuter benefits mapping tool allows you to overlay organizational data on commuting data to ensure your program is as effective as possible. We’d love to get more feedback as we continue to build this product.

Looking ahead to 2025:

Our team is kicking off 2025 with a busy January, starting with the much-anticipated 2025 Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Annual Meeting in DC. Our Director of Product Partnerships, Ruth Miller, will present her research on the experiences of commuters using their pre-tax dollars across new and emerging fare payment technologies. Her talk is on Monday, January 6, so reach out to us if you’re interested in the highlights!

Another exciting update is that the IRS boosted the monthly pre-tax limit for transit and parking to $325 in 2025, up from $315, to account for inflation and increased commuting costs. This means bigger savings for employees and lower payroll taxes starting January 1st.

2025 is sure to bring more features, more cities, more customers, and above all, more riders. Thanks for being on the journey with us, and we can't wait to share more about what's ahead. Next stop: 2025 🚂🚂
