Luum is shutting down. Here's what Jawnt covers for transit passes and pre-tax benefits, plus which partners we'd point you to for parking, commute logging, and micromobility.

If your commuter program runs on Luum, have you started thinking about what's next?
We've been in those conversations for a few months, with health systems, universities, cities, and large employers. They all land on the same question: who replaces this?
Nobody replaces Luum one-for-one, including us. Luum bundled parking operations, commute logging, ride-matching, gamification, and pre-tax benefits into one platform, and no product covers all of it today. Any vendor saying otherwise is going to disappoint you in month four.
So here's the useful version.
Jawnt handles the transit and the money. Pass programs with the agency, pre-tax and post-tax administration, a tap-to-pay, mobile-friendly card that works at the fare gate and the parking garage, payroll deductions that reconcile, and the reporting to prove it worked. For parking operations, vanpool matching, and commute logging, we'll point you to partners where this is their expertise.
Jawnt started in 2021, after our co-founders met at a train station in 2018 and got stuck on the same problem: How can payments in transportation work better? Five years later, we power commuter benefits for employers, mobility wallets for cities, and payment solutions for transit agencies.
Here are three case studies:
Harvard. When the MBTA moved to tap-to-ride, monthly passes stopped working for hybrid staff. We built a custom subsidy based on their actual employee commutes, that varies by commuting zone, and added a funded bike benefit.
The City of Philadelphia and SEPTA. The local corporate transit pass program participation 10x'ed, card error rates fell from over 10% to under 1%, and enrolled employees increased bus and metro trips 40% and regional rail trips 73%.
An AmLaw 50 firm with 16 offices. Dozens of spreadsheets a month going between benefits vendors, and some employees sitting on more than $10,000 in stranded pre-tax balances. We streamlined admin work and eliminated 40 hours of manual monthly work, plus we created balance limits to avoid large balances and help both employees and companies save.
For mechanics rather than outcomes: our dashboard, custom subsidies, and how we measure support.
Which one fits depends on whether your gap is parking operations, program analytics, or micromobility, but these are partners we work well with depending on said gap. For example…
CommuteHub by RideAmigos. The deepest bench for parking management and TDM together: digital permits, dynamic pricing, enforcement, guest access, ride-matching, and trip logging. Start here if you need to replace Luum's parking and commute-logging sides at once.
Commutifi. Commute analytics and program strategy. Their Commuter Score benchmarks employee commutes, models program ROI, and finds wasted parking spend.
OneCommute. TDM software for agencies, TMAs, and employers, with ordinance and permit compliance, ride matching, and branded commuter apps.
Ridepanda. E-bikes, cargo bikes, and scooters as a subscription benefit, maintenance and theft insurance included. They handle the hardware. We handle paying for it.
Wayleadr. Parking allocation where demand exceeds supply. They reassign spaces daily based on actual attendance and integrate with gates, cameras, badges, and EV chargers.
Luum did three jobs. We do one of them, and actively focus our company resources on that category.
The Luum comparisons above reflect what Luum documents publicly as of August 2026.
If you're on Luum and mapping out a replacement, the useful next step is scoping which pieces you need from whom. Most organizations we talk to end up with two vendors instead of one, and the transition is less painful than expected once that's clear.
We wrote up what switching a commuter benefits provider actually involves, including how balance transfers work and how to avoid double deductions in the changeover month. Read that first.
Then get in touch. Tell us what Luum was doing for you, and we'll tell you honestly which half we can take and who we'd call for the other half.
